About Me

My name is Micah Schaefer, and I have been a massage therapist since 2013. In 2010 I went to Bethel College, and by 2014 received my Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. During my time there I worked closely with the Athletic Trainers, where I was first introduced to muscle release techniques and my passion for bodywork. I decided to attend massage school in 2012 and became certified the next year. I also became certified in Cupping in 2017, Sports Massage in 2019, and Corrective Exercise Specialization in 2020.

My first job had me working with Notre Dame athletes from all types of sports; football, basketball, soccer, tennis, swimming, and lacrosse. After 2 1/2 years, I became much more involved in working with triathletes, with whom I continue working largely today.

Though I utilize “sports” massage therapy, I work on all body types, all ages youth and up, and all walks of life. I love working on every type of athletes as well as the weekend warriors and those just trying to keep in shape. But if someone does not fall into any of those categories, I am not exclusive; everyone can use massage therapy. Providing relief for those who are hurting is the reason I became a massage therapist in the first place.
